September 21, 2009 marked a historic day for the Temple of the Vedic Planetarium. On this day the first site works were begun, with the clearing of the large trees growing on the future temple site.
Workmen from Navadvip came to perform the task, while devotees held kirtanas and prayers for the future spiritual benefit of the souls in the bodies of trees.
It is predicted that site clearing works will go on for some months, before the construction company will begin work on laying the foundations for the temple.
Watch a short video of the event, including Jananivas Prabhu’s remembrances of Srila Prabhupada placing the foundation stone for the temple at this very spot back in 1972.
