Today, 678 holes have been dug in the site to make way for pillars to hold the temple.
We have 1672 remaining to excavate, and we are placing 2350 pillars in the ground. Each pile weighs 12 tons, and the depth of it is approximately 85 feet. The total weight of the external structure of The Temple of The Vedic Planetarium will be 2 lakhs, 20 thousand tons. Piling of the main temple dome area is finished, and excavation has started for the foundation.
Each day is another step closer to completing the pile-driving. The fence surrounding the site has become a popular attraction where one can pull up a seat (on the grass), and peek through the gaps in the fence to watch the show. And although the sound is a bit loud, Srila Prabhupada’s Bhajan Kutir is still blessing us with sweet nectar that drowns out the pounding of progress.
