Le Dr Richard L. Thompson (Sadaputa Dasa) est né à Binghamton, New York en 1947. En 1974, il a obtenu son doctorat. en mathématiques de l'Université Cornell, où il s'est spécialisé en théorie des probabilités et en mécanique statistique. Il a effectué des recherches scientifiques en physique quantique, en biologie mathématique et en télédétection. Il a également étudié de manière approfondie l'astronomie, la cosmologie et la spiritualité indiennes anciennes, et a développé des expositions multimédias sur ces sujets. Il est l'auteur de sept livres sur des sujets allant de la conscience à l'archéologie et à l'astronomie ancienne. Il est un disciple initié de Sa Divine Grâce AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Fondateur-Acharya de la Société internationale pour la conscience de Krishna (ISKCON), communément connue sous le nom de Mouvement Hare Krishna.
