The Puranic Geography of Bharat-varsha Book Preview

About the author

Soolaba Doyle is an initiated disciple of His Holiness Gaur Govinda Swami and follower of ISKCON since 1982. While multi-tasking as a full-time member of the organization in Australia, he also developed a taste for studying the Vedic literatures, and following in the footsteps of his father, a Geography researcher and teacher, has spent the last five years focusing on the descriptions of Bharat-varsha (our local Earth region) in the Puranic histories. The outcome will be a remarkable analysis never before seen or heard within the research circles of Vedic history and Geography. The book is due for completion some time in 2021 and will no doubt be an eye-opener for all with an interest in this important subject that mostly perplexes the body of students on the subject. He currently serves as a researcher for the Bhaktivedanta Institute for Higher Studies (BIHS) Puranic Geography Research Group.

This book explains how our Earth realm has very peculiar qualities, how it is indeed a vast immobile flat plane, yet simultaneously, has mathematical features that resemble a sphere in space. This information is found in the Puranic literature of India, and is supported by scientific observable evidences, much of which is available on the internet, or can be recorded on everyday devices like the telescopic camera.

Chapter by chapter, the ancient Puranic texts and Siddhantas are analysed and compared to the empirical evidence presented by mainstream science as well as those scientists who now support the Flat-Earth model from their various disciplines. Another pertinent reason for this research into the ancient Indian cosmology and geography of the Earth is the upcoming opening in 2022 of the Vedic Planetarium in Mayapur, West Bengal, by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).
